About This Item

1. Backer Rod is a resilient, closed-cell, flexible foam polyethylene piping product that can be used as a backstop, cushion or draught excluder. It looks similar to thin-walled pipe, and is available in white and tan varieties. With a low density and low compression strength it is ideal for use in jams and crevices where high expansion is the preferred option.

2. It is used to fill gaps around windows and doors or between masonry parts in walls, ceilings and floors, blocking draughts and preventing the entry of air, dirt, dust, noise and moisture. Backer Rod is easily molded to the needed shape, and is ideal for filling irregular rareas and lining up uneven joints.
